The Next New Thing

If i have to suggest new type of new media that would be a social networking site just for Baruch college so that students can easily interact with each other. In addition, this particular social networking site must be mandatory to all the students and professors. Further more, all the assignments and projects should be posted by professors in this site so that student can easily access. Students will also post their assignments and projects in this site to their respective professors page. It will help to reduce the papers that we use for printing. Basically students will use this site as a social networking site and also for academic purpose.

    This idea is similar to what you proposed in your "Advice to Baruch" post (communicating with professors via Facebook). This bring the idea of what you proposed earlier, but in a more practical approach. As opposed to communicating with professors on Facebook, I think communicating with professors and other students through a Baruch social networking site can distinguish the professor-student relationship.

    Seems great idea that all the information and comments on the current SNS is disclosed which I do not prefer and so do many others. Also, there will be less confusion about the many different policies of each professor about implementing new technology into their teaching.

    It seems like an improved Blackboard. As it is Blackboard isn't very efficient. It is not so user friendly and most students and professors do not use all the features. Maybe your idea is the answer.
